Plan before apply
Every change is computed as a reviewable diff before anything is written. Name, address, and phone edits stop at an approval gate and wait for a person. Nothing reaches a directory because a job ran on schedule.
Research complete · build in progress · partner and API applications in flight
LocalSync holds one canonical record for a business location and keeps it true everywhere it appears — through whatever door each directory actually allows. Then it goes back and checks.
The two rules
Client data is not an acceptable place to be optimistic. Two rules do most of the work of keeping it safe, and they are not negotiable inside the system.
Every change is computed as a reviewable diff before anything is written. Name, address, and phone edits stop at an approval gate and wait for a person. Nothing reaches a directory because a job ran on schedule.
A success response means the request was accepted, not that the listing changed. After a settle delay we read the record back and compare it to the canonical version. That read is what produces the evidence — and the same pass, run on a schedule, is what catches drift later.
Coverage
The hard part was never the syncing. It is knowing which directory accepts what, in which format, through which door.
Fifty-five directories researched across four waves. Every terms-of-service verdict is backed by a verbatim quote and an access date. Two directories were researched and deliberately excluded — a documented no is worth as much as a yes, and it is the part that proves the classification is real judgment.

Most of the long tail is human work. That is the honest shape of this domain, and it is why the assisted-manual path is a first-class citizen rather than a fallback.
A prohibited verdict routes to assisted-manual permanently. It is a routing decision, not a challenge to be worked around. CAPTCHAs are never bypassed, outsourced, or defeated — hitting one enqueues a human. Credentials belong to the client and are destroyed at offboarding.

That is the proving ground, not the ceiling — the platform is being built to hold other operators' locations too. There is nothing to buy yet, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If you want to know when that changes, say so.
