Operating posture
The constraints are the product.
Anyone can push data at a directory. The reason to trust a system that does it on your behalf is what it refuses to do.
- authorization
- Written authorization before anything is touched A location enters the system only when the client has authorized us in writing to manage its listings. No speculative claiming, no listings we were not asked to manage.
- credentials
- Credentials belong to the client Access is delegated to us against accounts the client owns. We do not create accounts in a client’s name, we do not hold their password where we can avoid it, and access is revoked and destroyed at offboarding.
- terms.first
- Terms of service outrank technical feasibility Every directory’s terms were read and the verdict recorded with a verbatim quote and an access date. Where automation is prohibited, the directory routes to assisted-manual permanently. It is a routing decision, not a challenge to be worked around later.
- captcha
- CAPTCHAs are never bypassed, outsourced, or defeated A CAPTCHA is a directory saying it wants a person. Hitting one enqueues a person. We do not use solving services and we do not build around them.
- identity
- No automated account creation or identity verification Sign-ups, postcard and phone verifications, and anything that asserts identity to a platform are done by a human being who is authorized to assert it.
- gates
- Plan before apply, with gates on the fields that matter Every write is computed as a reviewable diff first. Name, address and phone changes stop at an approval gate and wait for a person. There is a global kill switch and a deliberately low write ceiling — one session per directory, human-paced.
- evidence
- Every write produces evidence Request, response, read-back, screenshot, operator and timestamp. Retained 24 months, which is what makes a client-facing listing report defensible rather than a screenshot folder.
- data.residency
- Client data stays on our hardware The system is self-hosted. Client listing data is not sold, resold, republished, or used to build a directory product. We are not in the data-broker business and this system is not a step toward it.
What this system does not do.
- No review management, review response, or review generation.
- No posts, offers, or promotional publishing.
- No resale or republication of directory data.
- No markets outside the United States.
- No listings we have not been authorized to manage.
