Coverage
Fifty-five directories, researched before a line of code.
Counts, tiers and the shape of the corpus. Not the corpus itself — that part took real work and it stays ours.
- One canonical record at the centre
- One ring per research wave, core targets innermost
- One node per researched directory — 55 of them
- A line where an automated write path exists
Positions carry no information. Which node is which directory is not on this page, and the tier of any individual directory is not either.
Five tiers, ordered by how much of the write a machine can do.
Tier is assigned from what a directory's terms permit first and what is technically possible second. When those two disagree, the terms win and the directory routes to assisted-manual permanently.
11 directories have a sanctioned write API. Most do not, and the ramp is drawn honestly so that reads at a glance.
- T1 Official write API 11
A sanctioned, documented write path. Authenticated, rate-limited, read back for confirmation.
- T2 Authenticated automation 03
No API, but the terms permit an operator-driven session. Human-paced, one session at a time.
- T3 Assisted manual 38
A generated work item with a prefilled payload and a deep link. A person completes it and confirms.
- T4 Bulk feed 01
Data is accepted as a scheduled file or feed rather than per-record writes.
- T5 Deliberately excluded 02
Researched and ruled out — not a viable or appropriate push target. A documented no.

Four waves
The further out you go,
the more of it is people.
Wave one is where the sanctioned APIs are. By wave four it is almost entirely human work — and pretending otherwise is how listing tools quietly stop working.
- Wave 1
Core
8The eight targets that determine the architecture. Seven of the eight have a sanctioned write API path.
- Wave 2
Aggregators & general directories
15The data brokers and general-purpose directories that feed the long tail downstream.
- Wave 3
Vertical directories
27Industry-specific directories across five client verticals. Almost entirely human work.
- Wave 4
Local & civic
5Chambers, the visitor bureau, regional business press, and one read-only state register.
Directories we researched and deliberately excluded.
One is a read-only state register that is not a push target at all. The other was ruled out on its merits. Both stay in the corpus as T5 with the reasoning attached, because a documented no is what proves the other fifty-three classifications are judgment rather than a coverage count.
A tool that reports 55 of 55 green has told you nothing. This one tells you where it decided not to go.
Nothing on this site is live yet.
Research is complete and the build is in progress. Partner and API access applications are in flight. Until an adapter is running against a real location, a directory is described with one of these words and never with a checkmark.
